Deontology Charter

For the practice and teaching of Feng Shui

This Deontology Charter concerns all Feng Shui students, disciples, practitioners, teachers, masters. They should all agree to comply with this charter in its entirety in order to be recognized as honest, competent and worthy to represent the ancestral discipline.

Practicing Feng Shui

The Feng Shui methods can be used to perform diagnostics, give planning advice or intervene in real estate projects for others only by competent practitioners who have followed a complete course, directly from a recognized Master with attested validation by this Master of their theoretical achievements and practical skills (signed certificate or diploma).

Teaching Feng Shui

Only a Master can take responsibility for conveying the principles and methods of Feng Shui because of the validity of his knowledge and practical experience.

The teaching of Feng Shui can only be provided by a Master or by instructors appointed and accredited by a Master and working under the direction and control of the Master.

Any form of teaching, including classes, seminars and workshops, must be guided or supervised by a recognized Master.

The teaching must cover all major known Feng Shui systems, from traditional lineages. It must be at the same time theoretical, methodological and practical.

The achievements must also be verified and validated through theoretical and practical examinations. The transmission of knowledge can only be done directly, from master to disciples, allowing a smooth and reliable exchange of questions and answers.

No distance training can favorably meet the ethical criteria of Feng Shui and therefore, any form of distance education is prohibited.

Origin of knowledge

All knowledge comes from a specific origin. The traceability and reliability of this origin is fundamental to the practice and teaching of Feng Shui.

Customers wishing to use the services of a consultant should first check the validity of the latter’s competence and should request evidence of his education and of the validation of his acquired skills by a recognized master. The student who wishes to receive training from a teacher must do the same.

Skills Validation

Good integration of the principles and methods can not be certified unless it has been verified by a master whose skills and experience are secure and recognized. This certificate must be confirmed by the signature of the Master who shall be solely responsible for the implementation of his teachings by his disciple.

The Master may decide to withdraw his accreditation if he considers that his disciple does not respect his teachings or his deontology. This means that as long as the practitioner has not completed the whole process of recognition as a Master, he depends, for the guarantee of his skills and ethics, on the judgment of the Master who transmitted them to him.

Respect for Discipline, Master, Disciples, Clients, Self

Honesty is the fundamental representation of respect. Respecting our discipline, our teacher, our classmates, our own disciples, our clients and ourselves, simply means respecting the truth. Respecting the truth means expressing the truth, the whole truth and only the truth.

Respecting the discipline means expressing the exact, reliable and correct theories, expressing its real scope as its precise limits and not using it for purposes other than those defined by the rules of practice.

Respecting the discipline implies neither simplifying nor complicating it, nor transforming the principles or the methods and presenting it exactly as it is, without minimizing or exaggerating theories, principles or rules of application.

Respecting the Master means recognizing him. Respecting the Master means naming him and making a commitment to follow the knowledge that he has passed along as well as his code of ethics.

No one can claim to possess knowledge without a reliable source as a recognized and experienced master. Respecting the Master requires respecting the truth about him, about what he has precisely transmitted, proofs of what has been received from him and in particular of what he has validated: attestation, certificate, diploma or any document issued by him justifying the skills acquired by his side.

Feng Shui Consultant

When a practitioner engages in a professional Feng Shui consultant activity, he must adopt a clear and precise ethic. A consultant must present himself, his skills, his academic and professional background as well as his experience, honestly and without exaggeration. In particular, he must indicate true, clear, unambiguous and provable information, mentioning the exact origin and extent of his knowledge. He also undertakes to give more precise information on his career and experience to clients who request it.

A consultant gives specific recommendations only after having made a comprehensive on site analysis of all the parameters of the concerned place and people. He does not provide remote recommendations for a location he did not survey in person.

A consultant is aware of his limitations, those of his knowledge and those of the discipline in general. He does his best to improve his knowledge when he has the opportunity and when it is necessary.

Feng Shui Instructor

Only a Master can appoint instructors who will assist him in the transmission of the knowledge. The instructors are expert practitioners trained by the Master and supervised by him to teach the basic principles and methods.

Instructors must follow the path traced by their Master and fully comply with the theories and application methodology as defined by the Master.

Feng Shui Master

To be worthy of his title and position, a Feng Shui Master must be recognized in three ways:

1- Recognized by his own Master after showing him the exemplarity of his career and his respect for the ethics of Feng Shui.

2- Recognized by his own disciples, to whom he transmits his knowledge and experience in an authentic way.

3- Recognized by his peers, of different lineages and in several countries, especially in the original country of Feng Shui, China.
